On 3/3/23 on my way home from work, I came up on a tree across the road. The winds were dangerously high and tornado warnings had been issued throughout the day. After working 12 hours, I just wanted to be home, that's my usual thought process when I get off work. I made the call to 911 and was ready to wait it out. In a moment of anxiety, I decided to turn my car around in the road and go back for another route home. That's when another tree hit me, dragged my car into the ditch. It was dark, I couldn't see anything and could hear trees falling all around me. God made a way for me to escape, crawling out of that car, then crawling out of the ditch. I remember when my feet got on the blacktop, I looked up there was some light from the moon. I knew I had made it! I got out! I was shouting praises to my GOD!!! All I could say is, "God, You are too good to me!" I will forever remember that feeling and those words. I do hope to forget all the rest. Ha!
So today, and every day since Friday I am feeling just a little extra thankful!
I am hopeful for my heavenly home that awaits me, but God isn't finished with me here just yet. I get to be here to see my family & friends. My parents still have their daughter, my brother still has a sister, my husband still has his wife, and my grown boys still have their mom. And none of us have ever done anything to deserve such a favor from God. My prayer is to serve Him more, to love people more, and to never take the good things for granted because it can ALL be gone in the blink of an eye.
